Muffin

This is Muffin, our cat and as you can hopefully see bares no resemblance to a muffin of any shape or form. He is in fact one of the most unfriendly cats in the history of catness except if you count supper times when he all of a sudden becomes very friendly and gets under your feet quite a lot in a desparate attempt to polish your shoes. Another amazing fact about our cat is that he has to be put to bed every night. At about 10pm he comes downstairs and waits in the hall until someone goes into the kitchen and then rushes after that person until they walk with him into the utility room where he is put for the night.

He gets especially ratty when my brothers cat, Martha is about and lets just say that they aren't best of friends. It is at meal times when it becomes very bad and because Martha will eat absolutely anything regardless or not whether Muffin is eating it at the time, you have to be very careful when feeding them. It usually ends up with hissing, clawing and if it gets really bad, then a full scale war breaks out. Its worse than feeding time at the Zoo.

He is a very lazy cat and has once or twice been known to go outside but spends most of the time snoozing on the beanbag in our TV room, on various couches or on the beds upstairs. He is also a very vicious cat with a very short temper so unless you want to be bitten or scratched it is advised to wear protective clothing and and very thick gloves before going in a ten mile radius of him...(but we love him really).

Martha

This is Martha, Chris' (my brother) cat. She looks like she has had several cans of brown, black, white and orange paint thrown over her. She is a very friendly cat, and it is hard to believe that she was once a stray. She lives here with us as my brother now lives in Spain. It can't be said that she gets on hugely well with Muffin but they just about manage to live under the same roof without killing each other. She is great fun to play with and manages somehow to occasionally throw herself 5 foot backwards in the air.
